What is the best digital camera these days?

I am intending to buy a digital camera with excellent qualities. once, I searched for the best camera and I found that nikon d90 is always high rated, but recently it is not on the list. Are there any other better options?

Probably one of those Hasselblads that have interchangeable backs. I would love to shoot film and digital using the same camera. If not, I would settle for a digital Leica rangefinder.

Ratings are just opinions and best lists are just enumerations. The simplest thing to do in buying a digital camera is first assess your skill level then decide how much you are willing to spend. The more you know the basic principles of photography, the better you can match a camera to your skills.

If you have no idea at all about taking pictures aside from clicking the button, forget about dSLRs and get the most expensive Sony Cybershot you can afford. At least with that you are assured with ease of use. That would be the best if this is your case.
